Positions Supervised:
The Benedictine College Journalism and Mass Communications Department is seeking candidates for a tenure-track position to teach undergraduate courses in mass media communication, digital literacy, disinformation and related topics. The successful candidate should be able to develop curriculum for emerging journalism and media trends based on their interest and expertise.
Essential Functions:
• Be willing to participate in a highly collegial and collaborative work environment.
• Teaching load of approximately 12 hours per academic semester.
• Serve as an academic advisor to majors and minors.
• Be willing to engage in course development for emerging skills.
• Openness to advising student publications.
Requirements
• Earned doctorate in journalism, communication or related field preferred. ABD is acceptable provided the candidate has a clear plan to complete the degree requirements.
• Candidates with a master’s degree in a related field plus professional experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Prior teaching experience highly desirable, but not required.
