This book extends and applies Piper’s Christian Hedonism to the everyday life of the believer, including engagement with culture. Rigney, who studied Speech Communication at Texas A&M University and is now Assistant Professor of Theology and Christian Worldview at Bethlehem College and Seminary, argues that creation and culture were intended by God to provide pleasure to Christians and that with the right orientation, there is no conflict between appreciation of the creative arts and a spiritual life. This work advances Christian Hedonism as a potentially useful framework for the criticism, consumption, and creation of cultural and artistic works by Christians.
