Position: Tenure-track position in Organizational Communication

Supervisor: Communication Studies Department Chair

Job Summary: Full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the Communication Studies Department that includes undergraduate teaching, academic advising, and institutional service.

Responsibilities: Teach the equivalent of a full-time load per academic year (3-1-3), including courses in organizational communication, public relations, event management, and areas of the candidate’s expertise. Engage in ongoing professional and/or scholarly development. Lead work to propose and develop a PRSSA chapter on campus and establish collaborative relationships with area public relations and advertising agencies,  broadcasters, and other communication entities. Other duties include student advising, departmental responsibilities, committee work, and involvement in events sponsored by the Bethel Admissions Office and the Office of Academic Affairs.

Skills: Strong ability and passion for teaching and mentoring undergraduate students. Ability to design curricula, develop academic and community partnerships, facilitate experiential learning opportunities, and manage internships in nonprofit, media, and for-profit sectors.

Experience: Record of successful college teaching preferred. Background in health communication is a plus, as is professional experience in agency, industry, or nonprofit sectors.

Education: Ph.D. in Organizational Communication, Public Relations, or related field; outstanding candidates who are in the final stages of dissertation writing (ABD) will be considered.

Compensation: Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
